Featured Artist - Danny Use

If ever the international bonsai community needed celebrity figures,  Danny Use would rank highly on the “A-list”.  His infectious enthusiasm for bonsai is known globally, and his famous bi-annual Ginkgo Bonsai Awards exhibition in Belgium has become a utopia for enthusiasts.  The next is this year -  September15th - 16th 2007, the essential gathering of trees and artists that is now becoming a world phenomena.

Danny came from a gardening family background.  As a young man, he learned horticultural skills from his father while experimenting on nursery stock. He founded his impressive private collection in the early 1980’s and realised he could express his creative intentions through bonsai. He applied Japanese techniques to his native European species, echoing the high quality of imported Japanese masterpiece trees.

His private collection is displayed in beautifully authentic Japanese style bonsai Cho gardens with an even mix of superb imported specimens from the far east and European native species, all styled and designed to enhance their natural characteristics.  For further insight into the activities here, checkout the DVD productions featuring the Danny Use collection and The Magic of Ginkgo.
